All the EMS back in those days came from the plant in Belgium, where all Saab 
rust buckets were born. 
I had to have the body welded on my '77 EMS at the upper shock mounts too. 
Ever put your foot to the floor and leave it there?
Mine would hit 7,000 rpm in 4th gear, well beyond redline and around 123 mph. 
I cracked a valve lifter doing that, oops.
