It now has 122,000 miles and I've noticed in the last couple of weeks the transmission is sometimes slow engaging into forward. It can take a few seconds but it doesn't always happen. It may have happend once going into reverse. I kind of recall this being some kind of pump problem and I need to know if it fails real quick or progresses slowly. The Mobil1 fluid is between the marks. The shifter has loose spacers and I wonder if that could be part of the problem. If it's the tranny and not the shifter is it easily repairable or do I need a rebuilt. tnx

I know in a gas engine you can take the spark plug out and feel the pressure as you turn the engine over and also use the distributor to locate # 1 cylinder. But diesel???
