I'd bought some stainless steel screws but they're just a little too long. I could have cut them but I was a little worried about corrosion on the cut edge, the stainless screws you get at the hardware store aren't the finest stainless in then world... Yes, but they are the same material all the way through, so cutting a screw would not have exposed anything different than what is already on the surface.
