It’s not worth doing it yourself. BBA Reman does a complete cluster rebuild for about $110 plus shipping. I had the one in my 2002 W210 done as the display was dropping pixels. Turned it around in a day or two and replaced all sorts of stuff in it such as all the lamps, too.
