Back about 15 years ago I could buy snowmobile carb kits at my local shop for
$15/ea, on eBay I was getting $30 if I sold 1 a month or $20 if I sold 2 or
more. I asked about a bulk discount and if I ordered 12 he could do $10/ea. It
was a good sideline for awhile. When the economy crashed that business went
away, then my local shop went away so I've never tried to see if it could be
done again.

You might get lucky and find a system or parts on the cheap from someone who
hasn’t done their due diligence - I lucked into a NOS set of front turn signal
lenses for under $100 the other day on eBay. New from Mercedes (yes, they still
have them!) they’re about $90/each. Other sets I’ve see on eBay go for that or
more, because idiot sellers don’t check and assume they’re unobtanium and
buyers do the same.
Trunk tristars are sometimes as much as $90 or more on eBay. New one from the
dealer is under $50.
People are stupid.
