The antenna on the SL600 was broken so I ordered a new one. Installed it today which took all of 5 minutes to take out the broken one and feed the toothed belt back in then screw it down. Problem is that there is now an aftermarket Alpine radio (a really nice unit) in the car and the antenna up/down function doesn’t seem to be working. No bueno.
Any thoughts? Wire in a manual switch or pull out the new unit and try to find the antenna wire and see if there is some way to hook it up to the unit or a switch? There is a blank switch cover on the console, could put in one from a 126 or 123. I just realized I should probably CHECK THE FUSE for the antenna too. Did not do that. Maybe it is actually hooked up but not getting power. The new antenna doesn’t seem to be pulling in a much better signal either, up or down, which I expected it to do. Hmmmmm.
