I picked up a 87 300D today.  Kid is from Berkeley and drove it out to Stillwater, Ok to go to school.  I dealt with his mother in CA.  They said it did not run and not sure what the deal was.  I had 1 photo to go by.  Body was said to be in good shape but interior rough. Was said to have a CA rebuilt title. It was said to have 300k miles.  Upon arrival kid says he ran it out of fuel, got a jump but it still would not start.  I loaded it up on the trailer.  Body is worse that I thought it would be but what do you expect. Has 400k miles.  Interior is rough too, mainly trim items that could easily be replaced if desired and cracked up front passenger seat leather.  Drivers seat was replaced with a MB Tex seat.  Car has been hit in the left rear and there was much metal bent back and bondo in the area.  Paint is actually good.  Engine compartment is a mess, as in filthy dirty.  I get it home, battery in the car actually had a charge in it so I started cranking. That battery did not have that much of a charge so it ran out.  I swapped a different battery in and started cranking the piss out of it.  It finally acted like it wanted to start.  Cranked on it some more and finally got it to run.  Finally settled into an idle but is only running on 4-5 cylinders.  #5 and #6 are pissing fuel everywhere at the base of where the hard line screws into the delivery valve.  That would explain why it took forever to bleed the air out and runs like crap. That would also explain why the engine compartment is a mess.  In fact the top radiator hose is super soft like it has been exposed to fuel, which it has. Has a squeaking belt.  Anyway, I figure I may clean it up and do a minimal amount of work to it and flip it as a cheap car.  It's either that, or use it for parts.  I paid $300 for it.
