Oldest son had a weird occurrence the other day. He came home with the fuel just on “reserve” - the light had just turned on a few miles from home. He parked the car in the driveway, which is tilted down maybe 10 degrees, with the rear of the car on the low end, nose pointing up.
The car sat for maybe a day and a half before he went to drive it again. It wouldn’t start, but cranked mightily. He loosened the spin on fuel filter to find that it was about half full. He rolled the car out into the street where it would be level, filled the filter with diesel, and put the car on the charger as the battery was tired from cranking. An hour to two later he came out, cranked, and it started right up. He immediately went to the gas station and filled up, no problem since. We’re wondering if there is a check valve in the filter head or at the injection pump that prevents fuel from leaking down that might be bad? -D _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
