Water high, but not bad flooding in the South, route was not close to Mississippi, and that is flooding. Around cape Girardeau, MO, the road gets close to The River. water was very high. I'm pretty sure it was the highest I have seen it. At Hannibal, some roads to the East, into town, were "closed due to Flooding" according to the signs. Further north, The Avenue of the Saints runs close to The River between Quincy IL and Keokuk IA. The water was rising or at crest, as everything was green above the water. Most places the water was 2-3 feet below the highway. At one point, the water was within a foot of the road. If you look at a map, from south of Quincy to just S of St Francisville, MO where US 61 turns East to go into Keokuk, and US 219/Mo27 goes north; pretty much everything between the river and the highway is underwater. West of Quincy it is flooded over halfway to Taylor Mo, and to the south, where US 61, US 218 and MO27 cross the Fabius river, that is flooded out to the highway also. I saw 1968, 1974, and other floods there, but I believe this is the highest I've seen. ISU extention published a link to a rainfall map. https://water.weather.gov/precip/is the link but it does not show the same as published. on this link, you have to scroll down and choose "Year to date" The ISU extension map shows almost all of the Mississippi River basin at 125 to 150% of normal rainfall. Gulf and east costs appear to be 3x to 6x normal. I can attest that it has bee very rainy on the Gulf. The YTD map on the above link looks like the Mississippi basin has 2-4x normal. "Riiiiiight! What's a Cubit?" _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
