Actually, the 500 doesn't share anything with the Crown Vic. The chassis and drivetrain are all new (except maybe the engine -- not sure about that.) It can be had with RWD and a conventional automatic, or all wheel drive and a CVT. It looks bland but it actually contains a lot of new technology for Ford.
