Same sort of idiocy is going on nationwide.  The build out of homes in clearly 
stupid locations is rampant.  SWMBA took me for a drive up the side of a 
foothill (technically mountain) with giant grades, small roadway, large scrub 
covered lots and homes lacking access to fire plugs.  The whole thing reminded 
me of Laguna Beach/Blue Bird Canyon in the early 70’s where scrubland was being 
turned into denser and denser homesites.  Then a bunch of years later the whole 
place went up in flames.

Seems Hawai’i lets you plant homes in lava flows.
