Gotta look at it in person or pay somebody to do it for you. Mechanical damage might mean 300000 miles of normal wear, or it might mean oil sprays everywhere when you start it. I might go to Flint to look at the ML in the next 3 days, so if you're genuinely interested I could give you my Sprinter-ignorant opinion.
