I bought my wife a '99 E320 4Matic wagon about a year ago. It had 90k
miles, a one owner with service records. She has put about 10k on it with
no problems at all. I'm sure a lot of the repairs are not DIY, but I have
an excellent indy that is honest and fair. If he plans to keep the car for
several years the one year difference in models will not matter much in
resale. With service records being equal, I would go with the less mileage
car.
