Looks like someone has figured out a tech to produce electricity directly from 
a fusion reaction without an intermediary heat or steam process. It is a lower 
(but not room temperature) process.

My prediction is that there are so many credible candidates for carbon-free 
energy sources that we will have commercial nukes providing most of our power 
within 3 or 4 decades, maybe sooner.
