not unless you cut the belt to put it on. It is clear you have to take
off the flywheel. THey make a big deal that you "only have to slide the
transmission back" You don't "Have to" remove it, but you may as
well. It has to be taken out, and you may as well lower and put it out
of the way to get more room to take out the flywheel.

I wonder if you could replace that belt from below, remove the oil pan
and oil pump.
