[MBZ] 124 hood release cable R&R

Anyone replaced the 124 hood release?   Now that the 300D is coming 
home, I need to replace the hood release cable.   I'm wondering how you 
get to the hood end.  From the front, removing the condenser?   from the 
rear? If from the rear, do you have to take out the fan, shroud and 
radiator?  Thanks!
