That begs the question - at what price does "free" used veggie fryer oil become more "expensive" than wholesale ($1.68/gal or less) virgin soy oil due to filtration and processing costs incurred with transforming the used stuff into biodiesel? Or does the used fryer oil only make sense for the home brewer making small batches, who can't handle a delivery of 1,000 gallons from Sysco?

You can DEFINITELY order in bulk - 1,000 liter plastic jugs that come in an aluminum crate called a tote. I think it was $1.68/gallon last time I checked *soybean oil). Just look up oil in the yellow pages - edible. If you are in a big city, no problem. BTW, that is how it;s done in Germnay. Bulk VO is SOOO much cheaper than fuel, they don't even mess with used oil. One guy I read about has a truck come to his house and fill up the totes - 2 at a time! I wonder if I could buy enough at a time to get Sysco or one of the other restaurant supply outfits to deliver? Seems like that would be cheaper than BJs or Costco. Even if I couldn't get them to deliver I wonder if a friendly restaurant owner would order some for me? -Curt Date: Thu, 27 Apr 2006 22:02:07 -0500 From: "Luther Gulseth" Subject: Re: [MBZ] Benifit of drivinng a diesel To: "Mercedes Discussion List" Message-ID: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-15" or free oil from your local fry pub!
