Seller is a moron.  That's not a V12, it's a flat-12.  Hence the name
Berlinetta Boxer.  It's similar to the engine in the Testarossa.

And it'll stay cheap.  The early BMW V-12s in the 750iL and 850i have a
money-pit reputation.  I'm not sure why.  The engine is quite literally two
2.5-liter sixes joined at the crank, with mirror-image Bosch injection and
ignition systems.  The "baby six" was reliable and long-lived in the '80s
325i, so I don't know what went wrong when they turned it into a twelve.
(Audi did the same thing with the original V8 Quattro---stuck two
1.8-literGolf GTI motors together to make a
3.6-liter 32-valve V-8.  That's a very nice and very undervalued car too.)
