It's similar to the engine in the Testarossa. http://tinyurl.com/kdlcg - going cheap, so far And it'll stay cheap. The early BMW V-12s in the 750iL and 850i have a money-pit reputation. I'm not sure why. The engine is quite literally two 2.5-liter sixes joined at the crank, with mirror-image Bosch injection and ignition systems. The "baby six" was reliable and long-lived in the '80s 325i, so I don't know what went wrong when they turned it into a twelve. (Audi did the same thing with the original V8 Quattro---stuck two 1.8-literGolf GTI motors together to make a 3.6-liter 32-valve V-8. That's a very nice and very undervalued car too.)
