Our Mikrotik runs the original in-house 802.11b network, using a 1' bar antenna for greater in-house range. No security on it at all. (We're rural.) Newer clients don't really like that, so the network has been augmented by a newer Airport Express, but it didn't have the same range. I had to use powerline Ethernet to put a second AP in the back bedroom and gang them into a single extended wifi network.
