Yes, pure Chineeeseum junk. I had one given to me with the same issues. I have it to someone else.. neither of us could get it to run for more than a start and die... It had a total of 320 hrs of run time, when no start/ no run arrived.
Unless you truly need an awkward boat anchor, avoid the urge to own it.
