#2, and it allows me to choose my specific vehicle: 83 240D.

So the engine nos. in the PDFs don't apply to me because they are referring
to the same engine, only in a newer model vehicle?

You won't. Those are used in newer cars.

In addition, properly phrased, your engine is 616.912-10-268124.
