My last Dayton OH house had an iron stove in a corner on raised brick with
brick along both walls.  After it got going good I could damper it down and
keep the house cozy all night.  And it did get cold there. I recall a
two-week period it never got above zero f.

Maybe I should look into one of those inserts.  I have acres of trees but
mostly evergreens and sweetgum.
