I started the car up this evening to charge the battery and aired up the tars.
I fooled around with the radio While I was sitting there and found a Logic7
setting. It has a Harmon Kardon system. WOW does it sound good. My 05E320 wagon
does not have this and it sounds pretty good but this car is wayyyyy better.

So anyway I thought why not take it out just to warm it up and get the fluids
circulating. Going out the driveway I noticed it was shifting ok. Hmmmm. I did
some manual shifting 1-7 and it was shifting ok still. Hmmmm. Got out on the
road, stomped it, it kicked down into first and ran like a scalded rat shifting
fine up to 80 or so which was maybe 4th gear. Backed off and it shifted ok
again. Did a little more enthusiastic motoring and it was shifting fine.
Hmmmmm.

So this makes me think there might just be some loose connector somewhere that
is throwing the thing into limp mode as it did for the PO. Or some other fault
that is causing that to happen. The CEL is on, when I checked it before there
were a coupla faults in the airmatic and something else I don’t recall, nothing
serious. I’ll check it again tomorrow in the daylight.

I drove it twice before I brought it home, the second time after I bought it I
thought it was shifting fine. Drove it once after I dragged it home and it was
limping.

Wouldn’t it be something if it is just some minor thing. Really nice (but needs
a good interior detailing) car $900. Oh, and this thing is WOWWOWOW! when you
mash the go pedal. I’m liking it. I’m not sure I want to drive it any
distance if it decides to kakk again, don’t have plates on it either.

Hmmmmm....
