I vote for a tire belt separation. Since it kicks in at a speed, that is
the point where the centrifugal force distorts the tread section which is
separating enough to make a serious out of balance condition.

I just had a front tire on one of my trucks act exactly the same way for
the same reason. 3/4 ton truck with load E tires, only 6,000 miles on the
set of tires.. Suddenly, death wobble kicked in at 40 MPH.. on a 9,000 lb
truck [empty]

If you look at the car, look for a bulge in the tread on one of the tires,
front most likely. Setting, it might not be visually obvious, so look
closely.
