yeah right? The 211s are nice cars but I'm not sure if they are worth
the bother with all the complex systems that can go bad
I was thinking about the 210 v. 211. The 210 is OK, quite competent,
but still a 25yo design. the 211 is much more refined to where I'm not
sure how any newer model could be much better, and would be even more
complicated.

I took off the transmission connector plug today and cleaned it, it was oily
which made me think it was goobered up enough that the TCM was not talking to
the rest of the nannies. But alas it was not to be. Was still in limp mode In
a short drive after a good cleaning and clearing the codes.
It is perplexing why it is an intermittent fault. There was also a code for a
solenoid related to the brake. The car is also throwing a code for the SBC
accumulator so I’m wondering if that might be making the TCM act up. I need to
call the stealer to see if that would be covered under the SBC warranty. If so
I can get that fixed by them, if not I’ll buy the $75 part and fix it myself.
I’m not wanting to tear into the trans yet although it’s not a big deal. Even
if I get it sorted I should change the fluid/filter anyway I suppose
