I thought it should have gotten better mileage too, especially with the 5 speed tranny, also totally stock. It did have 4.10:1 gearing (yours is probably 3.73). We had a '97 F350 4x4 flowerstroke crew cab with an automatic that turned in better mileage, but it was broken in at 85K miles when we bought it where the '94 was new and had only 12K on it when it was traded along with the camper for a motorhome. Talk about HORRIBLE mileage, a 31' class C with a 454 Chev in it, and it was lucky to get 7MPG, OOOOUUUUCCCCHHHH! My parents have since moved on to a similarly sized class C motorhome with the Triton V10 that gets MUCH better mileage, around 10MPG hauling a 3000# toad. My wife and I have a 03 Dodge Cummins 6spd quad cab 2wd with 25K miles on it pulling a 7000# travel trailer, and it will reliably get 14MPG in the mountains on our trips from the Willamette valley to the coast. I hope it gains a few MPG on the flats. It has no problem exceeding 21MPg empty, and that involved some mountain roads as well as flat highway. I wouldn't be surprised to "see" 23-24MPG empty on a flat interstate. Kevin in Hillsboro Oregon 1981 300CD 204K miles, Giesela
