I haven't been paying much attention to the statistics but we do have a building number of cases. Interestingly if you go back a year there was a bump right around this time with, interestingly, around the same number of cases per day. If the trend repeats we should be seeing the peak soon and be out of it by the beginning of August.
OTOH if you look at the number of deaths per day has been in steady decline since the middle of February, we've just come over a small bump but it looks like a return to decreasing numbers. Honestly if more people in California, Florida and Texas would just get vaccinated and maybe stay home a little more this "problem" wouldn't be. Those three states really skew the numbers for the rest of us. Although I talked to a guy from Australia last week, they have the lowest vaccination rate in the developed world.
