MB hatch struts are totally different. Can't have the plebs seeing the struts.
They're in the ceiling of the car...

Really? Every car I've ever replaced hatch or hood struts on (Honda, Ford,
Volvo) has been super easy. Pop the clips off, remove the old struts,
clean/lube the ball, install the new struts. Takes a couple of minutes per
strut.
