I had purchased a project car 1982 300D from someone that didn't have timer top complete it. Previous owner had bought engine and interior parts from a downer car, I got the complete package. Long story to the short, got the engine swapped. The I dismantled the engine with the bad knock. Found the the number (1) piston connecting rod bearing wore out. Whom ever had the car, must have driven it a long time like that, because the bearing was completely gone.
