-------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: [MBZ] Bio Standby Hose Package-Rusty - Viton Return Lines Date: Tue, 6 Jun 2006 14:28:39 -0400 From: dave walton <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Mercedes Discussion List <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I happened to be in need of return lines and gave it a shot. These 2 have a rather thin wall and vibrate off the injectors: 5102K12 Metric High-Temperature Viton Rubber Tubing, Firm, 4 Mm Id, 6 Mm Od, 1 Mm Wall $3.09/ft 5102K22 Metric High-Temperature Viton Rubber Tubing, Hard, 4 Mm Id, 6 Mm Od, 1 Mm Wall $2.74/ft You could probably make them work by surrounding the ends with a short piece of larger hose, but that's more trouble than it is worth in my book. I was attracted by the low price - bad idea. Thses two fit very well and are snug: 5119K31 High Temperature Viton Rubber Tubing Firm, 1/8" Id, 5/16" Od, 3/32" Wall $6.00/ft 5119K811 High Temperature Viton Rubber Tubing Hard, 1/8" Id, 5/16" Od, 3/32" Wall $5.34/ft The ones Luther quoted: 5119K111 High Temperature Viton Rubber Tubing Hard, 1/8" Id, 1/4" Od, 1/16" Wall $3.22/ft Are probably dead on. I went with the thicker wall just to be safe since the tubing is not rated for pressure. The 1/8" wall thickness would be too large and hit the body of the injector. The hard version is a bit harder to pull off, but the firm seems to hold pretty well too. I don't know how the stuff ages to say if one is better than the other long term. I used some of both. Remind me to tell you how they worked in a few years. The above part numbers are from http://www.mcmaster.com/ . Hope this helps. -Dave Walton 94S350, 99E300 On 5/23/06, Luther Gulseth <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

If he does, it'll be the better solution.
