The other day when I did some service on my car, I changed the radiator hoses (upper, lower and bypass), thermostat and fan clutch. After reassembly I have had some interment operation of the auxiliary cooling fan (warm and hot, no more cold operation here in Dallas). I believe that this is being caused by the thermo switch on the thermostat housing. At what temperature is this suppose to trip? What does it do besides turning on the auxiliary cooling fan? And why are there 3 thermal electrical sensors on the thermostat housing. One for the aux fan, one for the temp gauge, and one mystery sensor.

I was blessed with an extra dose of testicular fortitude. The Doctors and my parents and friends noticed this trait early in my life. It's a chronic condition and there is no medication yet to keep this condition at bay. I have been undergoing therapy since its discovery. Buying old used cars and driving them ridiculous amounts of miles is very good therapy. Johnny B. I Mac Therefore I am
