Biodiesel is more environmentally friendly. It is carbon neutral. The biggest issue with diesel or biodiesel is NOx emissions.
There is no such thing as a free lunch. The closest thing would be thorium fueled nuclear reactors and Fischer Tropsch process for coal. The United States could be energy independent for the next millennium. Someone please tell Greta.
