1966 was the last year to buy a new Studebaker.
Aunt Bea not only bought one, she drove it in Mayberry RFD.
She started driving at the age of 50, and only drove Studebakers, which
she loved.
She drove it less and less, until she let the plates expire in 1983 and
her cats took it over.
When she died, a Studebaker collector and the owner of a local tourist
trap got in a bidding war, and the catmobile sold for $20k.
