I think with my 300SE the lawyer managing the estate (and I use that term loosely) either didn’t have the pink slip or it had been lost.
Florida won’t accept cars without a title from out of state unless it’s a state with a time limit or that allows bills of sale (GA, PA?) I had to have a pink slip or I couldn’t get it titled in FL. I wouldn't be be surprised if CA had some sort of reciprocity deal with other states. -D > On Aug 27, 2022, at 12:36 PM, David Bruckmann via Mercedes > <mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: > > As a Californian with six vehicles, I can tell you that it is completely > normal to have the pink slip, whether or not the registration is paid. > > I do *not* know, however, whether the CA government has any agreements with > other states to disallow transfer without payment of the back taxes. > > D. > > On Sat, 27 Aug 2022 Dan Penoff wrote: > > If you're in a state that will accept a bill of sale rather than a title > you could go that way and avoid the pink slip crap from CA. > > Otherwise, you'll have to settle up with CA to get a title. > > -D > _______________________________________ > http://www.okiebenz.com > > To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ > > To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: > http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com > _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
