I went out to do some weed eating and discovered the fuel return line
from the carb to the tank was broken. I had a kit I bought a while back
to replace the intake line. Replaced it, but pumping the primer bulb it
does not pull in any fuel from the tank. I took the primer off and did
not see anything obvious but it is not priming. It looks like I can get
an entire new carb (probably from china) from amazon for $15-20. This
is a Poulan I bought at the local farm store that has to be at least 10
years old or more. Are these things worth messing with or should I just
buy a new weed eater?
Funny side fact. I have always called grass trimmers or edgers weed
eaters, and the activity is weed eating. I think this may have been the
first brand of these and it is sort of like Zerox or Kleenex are brands
but have come to be a generic term.
