I have been looking into this briefly but most seem to indicate they replace
your existing router. My current setup is the modem/router has WiFi, from that
I have my main router plugged in acting as the primary. All of this is in my
office on one end of the house opposite the shop. I have a hard wire ran out to
the dining room area which is center of with an old router there acting as an
access point with its own WiFi ssid. I’m wondering if I can leave my existing
main router and WiFi network for use on that side of the house, and plug in the
mesh in place of the 2nd router in the middle of the house placing the nodes on
the other end of the house which might reach the shop. Now that I think about
it, I may have both routers plugged into the modem/router rather than the 2nd
router plugged into the first. I will have to see how I have that setup when I
get home. I’m thinking this would run 2 independent networks off the isp
modem/router?
