Best friend in high school had a dad who was a very successful law practice. 
Their house had the requisite “conversation pit’ of the time. He had a Pioneer 
quad system professionally installed around the “pit”.

He lived close to school so we would often go over there at lunch and listed to 
the few things that were released in quad, the one I can recall was “Victim of 
Love” by the Eagles.

It was a bit of a gimmick. Sounded cool, but I don’t think it was practical.

On a related note, I saw a quadrophonic Pioneer receiver on FBM today, the one 
that had the “oscilloscope” display to “tune” the system.
