About jumping ac clutch; please unplug ac spade lug connector before applying voltage to test clutch; i applied voltage to + side with engine running, climate control on & it burned a trace off my climate control circuit board; after a lot of other checking; finally found a blown fuse, on a/c?? or OVERLOAD relay under pass. side of dash; pull lower panel & look (or feel up at right side) for relay; pull relay out & check fuse, mine was blown; on 85 300D; not sure if yours has this overload relay or not; hope this helps a bit???; Steve
another thing; it is possible to hook climate control UPSIDE DOWN, & plug in; this will blow out your TEMP. control module
