Bob, do you drive the car year round?
If not, and the pump will hold up until winter, you might want to pull
it and have it rebuilt to racing standards for about $300 less than
the dealer part. There's a shop in Finland that will do all sorts of
wonderful things to it, including replacing the pistons and cylinders,
installing an external torque adjustment, etc. 

Rusty (see the parts link at the bottom of this message) can probably
supply you with a rebuilt IP for less than $1000 if you're in a hurry. 

Another thing to consider is the possibility that there's nothing wrong
with the IP. Lack of fuel supply to the IP can make the engine act up
in all sorts of ways. There might be a clogged pickup screen in the
tank, bad tank vent, etc. You might try running on an alternate fuel
supply (a coke bottle with a hose in it will do in a pinch) and see
if that makes it run better.
