I was interested in a pretty nice E350 with a munched engine a coupla months back but the guy wanted too much for it so I passed on it. This morning his wife asks if I’m still interested, they’d take $1k for it. Good starting point.
I had to look again at pics she sent and aside from driver seat a little worn it looks really nice. Black/black. So I said I was interested. She also says her 17yo daughter’s Honda just got rear ended so they need to find her a car. I asked if they’d be interested in a swap for this 99E320 I have, I’d need some cash to go with the deal. She says yep. So I’m gonna get that cleaned up. I talked to my new buddy who does the electronics and software about swapping in a 500 and he says should be no problem to make the ECU and EIS happy together between the two cars. I have this donor E500 that had an off-road adventure so could switch right over. Hmmmm. I think this could be an interesting project. There’s a lot of dead 350s around but good engines are somewhat scarce. 500s are all over so if the swap would work easy enough… He’s probably going to be down here this weekend and says he’ll come by to get the ML63 ISM sorted if MB in Germany are open to get codes or something. I didn’t quite understand that but whatever. Good deal! He’s turning my old STAR/DAS/XENTRY chinee computer into a new version too with all the latest updates.
