Since I'm on digest Marshall has undoubtably already posted the Syntec is a
group III oil and not to be trusted for extended change durations.

I'd just like to note that I paid $38 for a 6 bottle case of Mobil 1 15w50 at
AutoZone... I didn't get a price on Syntec but its usually more like $4qt.

I spoke w/Arizona Petroleum that is a local distributor of most
brands of motor oil to see if they had any Mobil1. "Very little" and
"no 15W/50" was the answer. But, they do have Castrol Full Synthetic
5W/50 in ample supply. I was told Castrol Full Synthetic (Syntec?)
is Mercedes-Benz approved...

What's the collective opinion of this for my two cars... '86 190E
2.3 16V and '92 500E??? Cost is about $39 for 6 quart case.

TIA,

Chuck

Having actually _used_ Farmall's 2-point fast-hitch system, I can't
understand why anybody would ever want to use anything else. The
fact that the 3-point won out is a little like WalMart winning,
leaving no place else to do business. Yeah, it'll get the job
done, but it makes you want to wash your hands afterwards.
