Looked at a 40+/- gallon horizontal tank twin cylinder (?dual stage?) "Model
1500" air compressor this evening. Appears to be 50's or 60's year of
manufacture. Plate says it's rated for 134-175 psi. Anyone have experience
with
this brand/model compressor and can give feedback good or bad? Asking price
is $100.

Luther,

Dayton is sold heavily by Graingers, and may still be in production,
certainly parts will be available. My thought is Dayton is a low to medium
grade
commercial product, so would last a long time with average home use. But may
not be very efficient, compared to current belt less compressors

I would say first off you need to know what kind of power this thing draws,
3 phase is not usually available at private residences. Even a a big 230-240
volt single phase motor might be tough on your circuits as the motor will
typically draw 5 to 6 times run current at startup.

Good luck,
