The trunk lock was only releasing with the key (turn all the way
counter
clockwise and depress the button) which I knew was incorrect.
This is always what seems to happen when the vacuum system is
disconnected. That pod 'breathes' into a locking position eventually,
and there's no unlock vacuum to pull it back.
The bad news is that the fuel filler door lock is also engaged all of
the
time. Also, none of the door locks respond at all. I'm wondering if the
fuel filler pod lines have also been swapped around incorrectly? Each
pod
has 2 lines to it. (One to lock, one to unlock, right?)
No, the filler pod only has one line, the red-striped locking line, and
is spring-loaded to release. Swapping the lines is not the right thing
to do at all, unless of course they got swapped wrong in the first
place.
If one of the two diaphragms leaks, you either replace the diaphragm
(if it's one of those) or the entire actuator. Or you can play games
with gluing the tears in the rubber, but that's a short-lived solution
at best.
What is the yellow/green line's purpose in relation to the yellow/red
One sucks to unlock (green), one sucks to lock (red). Unless I've
got my colors mixed up! The filler pod only has the locking line
going to it, so that's a good check. The opposing line is
simultaneously vented to atmospheric by the vacuum valve in the
driver's door.
