Actually Tom there isn't much difference between what they consider lifetime and say the cheaper 1 year guarantee part. The lifetime is just made with the same grade material to the factory specs like what was originally on the vehicle. The cheaper part is just a softer material and not necessarily better for your rotors or drums. They may wear faster, but they also might have less resistance to heat and could cause your rotors or drums to warp. I never understood the idea behind "lifetime" brake pads and shoes. Something must wear. If not the pad and shoes; the rotors and drums will wear. The whole point of a pad or shoe is to have something "sacrificial" that is easily replaced. I prefer replacing pads and shoes to rotors and drums. Another reason I like cheap pads and shoes that don't wear the drums and rotors; they don't rust to the drum or rotor!
