Mak - Yep, just like new. When I was a MBCA member we would occasionally have a local M/B field service tech rep come by for a Q&A session. I once asked about slop in M/B boxes and what needs to be replaced. The fellow said that unless the box had been adjusted too tightly they would never wear out, the bearings just get a little slop and need to be re-adjusted. To properly adjust the bearings you need a few very pricey special tools to hold the assemblies as you perform the running torques required for proper adjustment. It's all in the manual. the one thing that he said that everyone overlooks to replace is the thrust washer and its' snap ring that is under the head of the adjusting screw inside the pitman shaft that sets the gear mesh between the teeth on the pitman shaft and the teeth on the working piston.
