How are things in old blighty? Perhaps it is a matter of pulling it out and giving the contacts a clean. Might be a fairly big job to get at it, unless you can get at it from the top. If you do pull it out let us know how you did it, currently we have two 201's in the fleet and chances are sooner or later they will develop wonky switch syndrome as well.

I just noticed that the ventilation fan on my (non-AC) 190E doesn't work
when the slider switch is in speed I - speeds II, III and MAX work fine, so
I assuming it's not a fuse problem

I remember that my old W126's had wire wound resistors behind one of the
headlamps to give different fan speeds - I don't see anything like that on
my W210 - how's the system work here ?

It's a linear slide switch, not a rotary one

I've looked in the archives with no luck - anyone have any ideas before I
delve in ?
