My wife ordered two technical data books for me for Christmas, and got
an email saying that they were back ordered!

The Technical Data Manuals contain specifications and data available no where else. There is tightening torque data for almost every nut and bolt on all the Mercedes models built over the 3-4 year range that's covered. There are wear specifications and measurement values. There are many part numbers for many parts. There is absolutely NO information about how to do any repair job. It's a book for the mechanic that knows how to do all the jobs but needs the tolerance and measurements to do the job properly. I use my 1985 and 1988 versions all the time.
