Tom - just because Diesel fuel costs more than gasoline in some markets, it is a fact that in an essentially identical vehicle, driven under the same conditions, you can expect 25-30% better fuel mileage in the Diesel. Therefore, unless the price of Diesel fuel exceeds 91 octane gasoline by more than 25%, you are still better off driving the Diesel from an out of pocket expense basis. And that ignores the drivability advantages, less oil imports, balance of payments issues, etc. IMO, its just the North Americans that have their heads in the sand about Diesel powered cars!

price of diesel, I'd rather have the 300TE.
