The W116 300SD also had aluminum hood and trunk lid. No replacement
aluminum hoods/trunk lids were/are available in US AFAIK. All
gasser versions had steel.
Purpose was to reduce overall weight inasmuch as the 617.95x engines
were heavier than gas 450SE's.
