Last winter we had a REALLY cold day and my 6.2 diesel suburban was the only vehicle that would start, no block heater, just let the glow plug light go off then started it.

Of course now I can plug in but it hasn't gotten cold enough that I've even had 
to think about it... Plus my 190D is a better cold starter than my 240D ever 
was.
